Flu Season, Firewood, and the Smartest Cat

Hi, everyone!

I’m Keiko, a Soul Level Animal Communicator®.

Since the start of 2025, I’ve been battling the flu.

It all started when my husband caught it first, and soon after, it came down on me. I know it’s pretty common in families, but I’ve heard that when one family member gets sick, and others follow, it’s often due to some kind of energy alignment or resonance. I tried imagining a partition of energy between us, but that didn’t work. So next time, I’m planning to visualize a thick concrete wall instead!

I went through every symptom you could think of. Even when I blew my nose, it felt like my brain matter was coming out—or so I thought. But thankfully, after the 20th, I felt a shift in my energy, and I know things are getting better now.

Today, I want to share a little story about Cocoa.

Sometimes, I catch my husband saying to Cocoa, “Good dog!” I always remind him, “He’s a cat, not a dog!” But my husband insists, “No, he’s a dog! He’s way too smart to be a cat.”

The other day, while we both are not feeling well with this flu, we had to bring in wood for heating. My husband carried the wood from outside to the door, and I took it from the door to the fireplace. Naturally, this meant the door stayed open for a while.

Then there is Cocoa.

He’s always curious and loves the idea of going outside. He hovered near the door but seemed to understand what we were doing. I looked into his eyes and firmly told him to stay. I even used the hand commands I used to use with my dog. (I used to live with a dog.)

When I said “down” and made the motion, Cocoa looked at me straight, sat lower, and tucked his paws into his chest. He stayed right where he was, watching us intently, until we finished bringing in the wood.

They say an adult cat has the mental age of a 3-year-old child, but I think Cocoa is far smarter than that. No wonder my husband calls him “Good Dog!”
